For people that like party, or “folia”, like we say here, the Carnatal – a carnival that happen on December – is the Best choice. The party happen since 1991 and counts on several axé bands, that make the night of the people. But if you prefer a calm event, we have the FestNatal – a Movie Festival of Natal. The event happen after Carnatal and promove local and national movies exhibition, competitive samples, beyond cultural activities, as presentation of street theater groups and several cultural activities, in several places of the city.

By the way, we have several good events here on December. In the beginning of the month it happen the National Writers Meeting, the Christmas in Natal (with plays and national artists concerts) and also the Prêmio Hangar (a prize of Brazilian music). Other good events for people that like forró are the vaquejadas – parties where the men have to put the bull on the floor to get the prize. There are concerts of successful bands and the parties happen generally in the state interior.
